MUSCAT — NBO has launched their Sharia compliant banking brand in Oman under the name ‘Muzn’.
The Deputy CEO of NBO, Ahmed al Musalmi, revealed the Muzn brand at the special occasion attended by Shaikh Khalfan al Esry, Muzn Sharia Supervisory Board member and Her Highness Sayyida Rawan bint Ahmed al Said, NBO Board Member as well as NBO senior management. ‘Muzn’ will be the Islamic banking window from National Bank of Oman offering Sharia Compliant.
The name Muzn is the Arabic word for rain clouds which are, in turn, associated with favourable outcomes such as growth and prosperity, fortune and plenty and blessings and longevity. In turn, Muzn aims to deliver; growth for your money, hope and prosperity for you.
Al Musalmi outlined the thinking behind the imagery used for the Muzn brand, ‘The green used in the Muzn brand identity is closely connected to the meaning of the word Muzn. Rain brings life to the land — and green is strongly associated with life and growth, indicating prosperity and well-being.’
Muzn branding guiding principles is to create ethical value for all stakeholders through innovation, customer care and superior standards of operation,’ he said. ‘We believe in faith, honesty and clarity at NBO and we promise that Muzn will adhere rigorously to Sharia principles and to the highest standards of professional conduct, corporate governance and ethics,’ he concluded.
The bank has developed the brand to reflect the simple concept of ‘create ethical value’ at its core. In order to “create” the belief is to live by the saying, “if it is to be, it’s up to me.” And through “ethics” is to practice actions that promote the well-being of others and finally “values” to empower business units to make value-creative decisions. All Muzn branches will open after receiving all regulatory approvals.
