AL JABAL AL AKHDHAR — Dr Yahia bin Badr al Mawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, followed up the accompanying activities of the 1st Youth Social Camp being carried out in the Niyabat of Al Jabal al Akhdhar.
During his tour he visited the Welfare Centre for the Elderly, the Forum for Children’s Creativity conducted by the Omani Women’s Association in Al Jabal al Akhdhar in collaboration with Ministry of Social Development where he was briefed on the programmes being implemented.
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development also inspected the activities and programmes dedicated for the children and followed up the activities of the youth camp in its second day including plantation of olive trees undertaken at various sites. Among the activities was an awareness lecture on drug abuse presented by Dr Said bin Hameed al Harmali, Director, Department of Social Development who enlightened the attendees on the ways of combating drugs. — ONA
