Fri, 06 July 2012

Bahla — His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, the Sultanate’s Grand Mufti delivered a religious lecture in Bahla yesterday.
His Eminence said that Muslims should spend moderately explaining that there are several aspects of spending in the cause of God and that Muslims are supposed to devote part of their money in them citing verses from the holy Quran and Hadith of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) that urge for spending money in the cause of Allah.
Shaikh Al Khalili added that Muslims have to compete among themselves in spending their money in the ways explained in the holy Quran and Allah the Almighty will reward them for doing so explaining that spending in the cause of Allah the Almighty brings countless benefits upon the spender, his family and the entire society. Giving charity or alms purifies the soul, he said.
His Eminence explained that spending or giving charity should be regulated through charitable organisations and societies which dedicate the charity funds in the aspects that are keenly needed by the society, these aspects include educational institutions, summer programme centres as well as Awqaf (endowments) which constitute a major aspect of charity. His Eminence also delved into the matter of lavish spending and the risk associated with it particularly in wedding banquets. A Muslim should spend moderately and according to priorities because he or she will be asked by God in the Day of Judgement about how he or she spent the money.
Shaikh Al Khalili urged for the setting up of charitable organisations and donating money to them as they are able to work according to clear and systemic mechanisms and dedicated the funds for the purposes needed by the society.1341505184749101000 /> Meanwhile, Shaikh Al Khalili gave a religious lecture for women at Majlis al Jina in the Wilayat of Samayil on Wednesday evening.

During his lecture His Eminence narrated some attitudes of Muslim women at the beginning of Islam highlighting the great role they played in the spread of Islam stressing on the importance of women’s contribution towards an upright community adding that the whole society proceeds on the right course when the women are decent and honourable.
