Bulgarian official visits OEPPA

MUSCAT — Maxim Minchev, Director-General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), accompanied by Zamzam bint Sulaiman al Rashdiyah, Director-General and Editor-in-Chief of Oman News Agency (ONA), yesterday paid a visit to Oman Establishment for Press, Publication & Advertising during which he met with Fahmi bin Khalid al Harthy, Editor-in-Chief of Observer, and Saif al Rahbi, Editor-in-Chief of Nizwa magazine.

During the visit, he familiarised himself with various sections of the establishment and viewed the technical progress in the field of broadcasting and printing news, as well as the publications issued by the establishment. Yesterday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was singed between ONA and BTA. The MoU will enhance means of co-operation in the field of news, photos, exchanging expertise and training between the two sides.

Minchev said that this MoU is the beginning of co-operation between the two sides as it will pave way for the two institutions to promote bilateral relations in the field of media, particularly in the areas of exchanging news, photos, as well as promoting skills and expertise between the two sides. Minchev also visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in the Wilayat of Bausher. He was briefed on the history and stages of building the mosque, which includes the Islamic Studies Institute, library, lecture halls and other utilities. — ONA
