TAQAH — The Rover Scouts' summer camp in the Governorate of Dhofar continued its activities for the second consecutive day yesterday. The camp will continue till July 25 with the participation of 200 leaders and rover scouts representing 25 clans from the Sultanate’s clan club, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the Colleges of Applied Sciences, the Colleges of Technology in different governorates.
Yesterday’s activities included 'Research and Study' by which rover scouts conducted field research and surveys among the targeted community members. The participants were divided into six research groups that addressed a number of topics and problems.
The first group studied the economic importance and environmental impacts of drinking water desalination plant in Sahl Ashor terrain. The second research group studied the historical and archaeological value of Al Baleed historical site. The third group studied the economic value of Abalone fish in the Governorate of Dhofar. The fourth group studied the livestock in Dhofar. The fifth group studied the economic importance of the port of Raysut. The sixth group addressed the consumption patterns in Ramadhan. — ONA
