JAALAN — The Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in the Sharqiyah South Governorate assumes special importance in the area due to the fact that it stretches along the coast where cool breeze blows on land. Among the tourism hotspots there is the niyabat of Al Ashkhara known for its moderate climate throughout the year. Other tourism attractions include Al Khuwaimah, Aseelah, Al Suweih and Al Ruweis. Development projects are in full swing in the wilayat, ranging from infrastructure to educational and health services.
A major project in the wilayat is the Ras al Hadd Airport which is now under construction. Roads leading to the airport are being built alongside other facilities. The Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat is a key institution where young learners are taught the Quran and the Sunna during the year, with emphasis on summer classes. The fisheries sector gains importance as fishing is among the traditional professions of many citizens in the wilayat and a source of income and investment.
