Tourism projects receive support from ODB

Sat, 04 August 2012

Based on its strong belief in the importance of enriching tourism in the various governorates of the Sultanate, the necessity of providing tourist facilities, encouraging the engagement of the young in this promising field of tourism, increasing the contribution of tourism in national development and diversification of national income resources to match the future vision of Oman’s economy, Oman Development Bank (ODB) continues its leading role in supporting new projects. One recent encouragement ODB has given to young people is the project of Ibri Rest House which was inaugurated in June 2011.
“Oman Development Bank has supported me, changing my dream into reality. The total cost of this project is more than RO 100,000; the bank offered me a loan of RO 15,000. The role of Oman Development Bank at enhancing and supporting small- and medium-sized projects in the field of tourism is encouraging to all. The bank doesn’t save any effort to help any young person who has a dream that can be changed into reality”, Saied bin Mershed al Farsi (pictured), the project owner said.
Ibri Rest House includes 11 furnished rooms and different service facilities, such as restaurants and variety of shops that offer services and commodities to tourists and visitors. The rest house is a tourist destination characterised by calm, tranquillity and high-end service. In addition to being far from the noise, Ibri Rest House is very distinctive by its hospitality, quality services and affordable rates, Al Farsi said.
Because of its location on the main course of tourist groups heading to Salalah in the autumn season (Khareef) and thanks to many festivals and carnivals held in the Wilayat of Ibri, the rest house is living its most lucky days. “Since opening, Ibri Rest House is witnessing great demand from tourists and visitors from Oman, Gulf and the Arab world and all over the world”, Al Farsi explained.
But projects like these need constant care and feeding; and this is what Al Farsi rolls up his sleeves for. “At Ibri Rest House, we look to every visitor or tourist as a dear guest; it is our duty to provide him with comfort and pleasure by keeping the place calm and clean; through our experienced staff, we are very keen to provide high quality service and create an authentic Omani touristic environment,” Al Farsi said.
