MUSCAT — The Research Council (TRC) Board yesterday ratified a programme on supporting student research at various higher education institutions. The programme seeks to encourage students to conduct research in their fields of study and to spread the culture of research. The TRC reviewed the progress on designing and planning for the National Eco Friendly Houses Competition, as well as the outcome of the first research grants. The board also looked into the outcome of the open research grants programmes for 2012. The meeting was presided over by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tareq al Said, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan and TRC Chairman.
