MUSCAT — Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, issued a circular calling on all enterprises governed by provisions of the Labour Law to advance their staff salaries to be paid no later than Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The decision seeks to enable private sector employees to fulfil their social commitments and cater to their family needs on the occasion of Eid al Fitr.
The related provisions are cited in the Labour Law promulgated by the Royal Decree. The Ministry of Manpower took the opportunity to thank all private sector companies and establishments for their continuous co-operation to achieve the interests of their employees. The ministry requested the companies to abide by the above-mentioned decision to serve the public interest. — ONA
