MUSCAT — Dr Ibrahim bin Ahmad al Kindi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA), approved the management system of privacy documents for the establishment in the presence of Dr Hamad bin Mohammed al Dhoyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA).
Work on these tools has completed after passing through several stages, the most recently was the final approval of NRAA to those schedules and their classification system in implementation of requirements of the National Records and Archives Law promulgated by the Royal Decree No 60/2007, referring to Article 18 of the law on national records and archives, the respective party is responsible for its own documents until need to these documents expired, and all parties, in co-ordination with NRAA, should prepare and implement a system for its documents.
NRAA in co-ordination with the relevant administrative structures and units in the establishment set up a nominal list for the types of private documents and files in the establishment, which resulted in the completion of procedural tools represented in the preparation of schedules for retention periods of private documents and their classification system.
The procedural tools for the records management system are related to preparing a table for retaining the special documents and the classification system after preparing the nominal list for the special documents at OEPPA. The procedural tools for the document management system is the main pillar for building a modern system that meets the best international standards approved in this field. — ONA
