Eid al Fitr holidaysMon, 13 August 2012
Gov Sat-Wed; pvt Sat-Tue — MUSCAT — As per the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, it was decided that the Eid holidays for employees at ministries, public authorities and other government departments will be from Saturday, the 29th of Ramadhan 1433 AH, August 18, to Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Work will be resumed on Saturday, August 25, 2012. This came in a decision issued by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council. The official working hours after Eid al Fitr holiday will be revert back to the same timing set before the beginning of Ramadhan. Sayyid Khalid extended his congratulations to His Majesty the Sultan on this blessed occasion, praying to the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life. He wished the Omani people and further progress and prosperity and all Muslims plenty of bounties and blessings. Meanwhile, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, issued a decision stating that Eid al Fitr holidays in the private sector establishments will be from Saturday, the 29th of Ramadhan 1433 AH, August 18, to Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Work will be resumed on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. The decision allows employers and employees to agree on work arrangements to continue working during the holiday, if necessity arises, and compensate the holidays later. The employees whose weekly off days coincide with the holiday should be compensated as well. The employees of private sector extend their heartfelt greetings to His Majesty the Sultan, praying to the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life.
