![]() By A Staff Reporter — MUSCAT — A new exploration and production sharing deal with the Hungarian MOL Oman LTD Company, as an operator of Block 66, was signed yesterday. Block 66 is located within Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, covering an area of 4,898 sq km where the company will have the right to explore, develop and produce oil and gas. Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, signed the agreement on behalf of Oman, and Sandor Fasimon, Executive Vice-President, Exploration and Production, singed on behalf of MOL Oman LTD Company, and Dr George Bacsa, Vice-President, Corporate Business Development. The commitments of the company under this deal are to reprocess old seismic, acquire new 2D and 3D seismic and drill exploration wells during exploration periods. |
