HM okays National Day logo

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has approved the logo of the 40th National Day symbolising the blessed renaissance march led by His Majesty since his assumption of power in the Sultanate 40 years ago. Shaikh Sabbaa bin Hamdan al Saadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for National Day Celebrations, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the 40th National Day logo denotes the significance of the anniversary.

The logo features the peace march enjoyed by the Sultanate under His Majesty who brought about comprehensive development in various spheres, making the country keep abreast of the world countries in terms of progress, Al Saadi added.

He explained that the main features of the logo comprise the Sultanate’s name and its map. Two swords and the Omani khanjar (dagger) which appear above the number 40, denoting the year of the Sultanate’s modern renaissance. The pigeons are a symbol of peace, he said. Figuratively speaking, the vivid colours may point to emotions of love and a bright future. — ONA
