Super-specialists from Nova India conduct CME

By A Staff Reporter — MUSCAT — An exclusive ‘Continued Medical Education (CME)’ programme on ‘Common Shoulder Problems and their Management’ and ‘Surgical Cure of Obesity and Diabetes’ was conducted by the Nova Medical Centers Muscat recently. Conducted by super-specialists Dr Mahesh Reddy, Co-Founder and Director of Nova Specialty Surgery Bangalore, and Dr Ramen Goel, Head of Bariatric SurgeryNova Mumbai from India, a large number of medical professionals made use of the programme.
Addressing an audience of Oman’s leading orthopaedic surgeons, and general practitioners, Dr Reddy spoke at length of the causes that lead to shoulder stiffness, the precautions one should take to avoid shoulder injury, and remedies to cure shoulder injuries. Dr Goel spoke about the limitations of conservative treatment of obesity and criteria for Bariatric surgery. Dr Reddy and Dr Goel also spoke at length about the latest developments in technology and techniques to treat shoulder injuries and obesity respectively.
“Shoulder Surgery is the new and exciting sub-specialty of Orthopedics; and most shoulder problems can be cured through timely intervention. Shoulder problems are also extremely common among people who play sports and some of the best sports persons in the world have undergone shoulder surgeries and got back to playing at the highest level,” said Dr Mahesh Reddy, Co-Founder and Director of Nova Specialty Surgery Bangalore.
He continued, “Recent advances have enabled us to diagnose shoulder problems better, treat them with the latest techniques including minimal invasive surgery and get patients back to performing routine activities of daily living without pain and stiffness.”
