MUSCAT — As part of their preparation for the Asian Games to be held in China this November, the Oman National hockey team will play two exhibition matches against the United Thalassery Sports Club (UTSC) today and tomorrow at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
The Oman team, a perfect blend of youth and experience, under the guidance of former India player K K Poonacha made it to the Asian Games after winning the qualifying tournament in Bangladesh.
A confident Poonacha said, “all requirements for the team preparation is being met by the Oman Hockey Association and has extended all its support for our success.
“The players are thrilled that they will be playing in the Asian Games. We hope that the game with the experienced players of UTSC will be a boost to our team.”
