CBO issues coin depicting the Jewel of Muscat

MUSCAT — On the occasion of the Renaissance Day and to commemorate the Jewel of Muscat sailing ship’s voyage from Muscat to Singapore recently, the Central Bank of Oman has issued a silver commemorative coin depicting a colour picture of the Jewel of Muscat.
The coin is a legal tender for its face value and may be purchased from the Central Bank of Oman. The obverse of the coin depicts a Khanjar, the name of the country (Sultanate of Oman), the name of the Central Bank of Oman and the denomination in Arabic and English. The reverse depicts a colour picture of the Jewel of Muscat.
The distinctive features and specifications of the coin are: denomination one riyal, fineness 0.999 silver, diameter 38.61 mm and the weight 28.28 gms.
The price is subject to change in accordance with the variations in the prices of silver in the international market. — ONA
