SALALAH — As part of the wilayats’ contest as an activity in Salalah Tourism Festival 2010, Wilayat Shaleem W’al Halaniyat enthralled the public at the theatre of the Municipality Recreation Centre.
Troupes from the wilayat performed folk dances and songs such as Kafan al Habbout, Al Razha, Al Dan Adon and Al Youla; in addition to popular games including Al Karr, Al Hawalees and Al Jadera.
As part of its participation in Salalah festival, “Bahjat Salalah” troupe presented several traditional dances at the “Heritage Home” comprising Al Bara’a, Al Mizmar and Al Sharih to the enjoyment of those attending the performance.
Another attraction at the Salalah festival is the Omani Halwa, which is still posing as the best and most tasty in the region. — Picture by Yasser al Kiyumi
