By A Staff Reporter - MUSCAT — BankMuscat marked the graduation of a group of 15 young women leaders who underwent the Results-centred Leadership Development and Coaching Programme run by The Achievement Centre (Canada). The 15 managers were selected for the programme on the basis of their leadership potential and the bank’s desire to develop its future leadership pipeline. Salim al Kaabi, AGM — Human Resources, said: “BankMuscat is keen to develop its leadership pool from among the young Omanis, thereby contributing to Oman’s future by investing in talent which is the real wealth of our nation.”
Al Kaabi added: “The graduation is yet another proof that BankMuscat is determined to build its young leadership. The bank attaches priority to investing in its people to improve the performance of the organisation. The work culture encourages the development of leadership talent as the bank pursues a comprehensive plan to develop the skills of employees at all levels.”
The RCL programme was selected after a thorough review of various options. Its built-in one-to-one coaching element enables transferring learning to the workplace. The modules covered included goal setting, personal productivity, motivation, communication and relationship building and dealing with performance issues. The participants appreciated the coaching element of the programme which enabled them to achieve their potential both at professional and personal levels.

Benita Stafford-Smith, senior executive coach who delivered the programme, said: “I strongly believe that these leaders will go very far in their careers and make huge impact on the teams they lead and BankMuscat in general.” The Achievement Centre (Canada) has been operating in Oman since 2007 with a number of highly experienced and international certified coaches. Over the past four years, they have delivered their programmes at various government and private sector organisations.
