Trafficking of 100kg hashish foiledSat, 03 April 2010
MUSCAT — The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has foiled trafficking of 100 kg of hashish as it ambushed a four-man gang at the Wadi Saa border checkpoint recently. The ROP received a phone call on March 25 saying that the drugs were being transported in three vehicles. With this information, the ROP managed to hold the group and transfer them to the Public Prosecution Department in Al Buraimi Governorate pending the preparation of legal procedures. Meanwhile, the ROP Drug Control Department in Muscat arrested three suspects in Muscat and three others in Seeb with drugs in their possession. One of the Muscat gang tried to avoid police by jumping the red signal, but his attempt ended in a road accident and he was arrested. — Oman Arabic daily |
