18 new projects awarded

MUSCAT — The Tender Board awarded projects worth RO 26,435,426 during its 8th meeting of the year held here yesterday under the chairmanship of Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Deputy Chairman of the CBO Board of Governors and Chairman of the Tender Board.

The projects included the construction of a building for the Public Authority for Craft Industries at the Airport Heights (RO 5,693,318); Additional works for the construction of dykes in Salalah in Dhofar Governorate (RO 3,019,505); Additional works for the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and maintenance equipment at SQU and University Hospital (RO 2,586,124); Designing and implementation of road links at Wadi Al Ain in the Wilayat of Ibri in the Al Dhahirah region (RO 2,420,507).

It also included setting up of a telephone exchange at the coastal station in Al Wattaya (RO 1,520,000); Additional works for the provision of cleaning and pest control at SQU (RO 1,506,667). Also included are supply, installation and operation of the equipment for the GRPS for the programming of its systems and integration (RO 1,474,779); Additional works for the construction of Tiwi Ateer/Hasheer road in Dhofar Governorate (RO 1,168,252); Provision of transportation services for SQU students (RO 952,127); Construction of Al Muthana bin Haritha School for basic education (8 classrooms) in Al Khoudh in the Wilayat of Seeb in Muscat Governorate (RO 602,584); Additional works for the design, construction of the sub transformer station (33/11 kv) at Al Duqm power plant in the Al Wusta region (RO 569,918); The projects included management of fixed and mobile network to meet the needs of some Governmental Departments (RO 530,000); Construction of circuit breaker room (11 kv tension) at Al Ghubra Power Plant in Muscat Governorate (RO 480,985); Additional works for the forestation and irrigation at SQU and University Hospital (RO 333,214); Development of Al Awabi old souq in Southern Al Batinah region (RO 300,146); Supply of medical lab and blood transfusion services accessory, for the Health Ministry (RO 214,028); Extension of optic fibre cable for Al Mabeela/Athaibah and Athaibah/Qurm (RO 184,738); Provision of consultancy services for the supervision of adding some features to the Internet network (RO 180,628).

The Board opened bids for the following tenders; Tender No 354/2009 for the management of water sector in the Sultanate; Tender No 424/2009 for the construction of health club in Al Bustan Palace Hotel; Tender No 10/2010 for the provision of consultancy services for laying the urban planning for Al Duqm city in the Al Wusta region; Tender No 35/2010 for rectifying and updating the data for the local ring of Omantel; Tender No 36/2010 for the supply and installation of air cooling units for the gas turbines in Wadi Al Jizi plant; Tender No 37/2010, construction of power line 33 kv and construction of electric transformer station (2x10MVA) to connect the electric current for Ras Al Had Airport in the Al Sharqiyah region; Tender No 38/2010, design and construction of transformer station (2x10 MVA) to connect the electric current to Adam Airport in the Al Dakhiliyah region; Tender No 55/2010 for the construction of a basic education school for boys (10 classrooms) in Tahwa in the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi in the Al Sharqiyah region; Tender No 61/2010 for the construction of Khawlah bint Qais School for basic education (co-educational, 32 classrooms) in Hail al Ghaf in the Wilayat of Quriyat in Muscat governorate; Tender No 65/2010 for the construction of roundabout and pedestrian passage in the Wilayat of Nakhl in the Al Batinah region. — ONA
