OEF to develop modern equestrian facilities at Al Rahba FarmMon, 19 April 2010
![]() By Our Sports Reporter - MUSCAT — The Oman Equestrian Federation (OEF) is in the process of establishing the state-of-the-art equestrian facilities at Al Rahba Farm. The OEF Chairman Mohammed bin Isa al Fairuz revealed this during a press conference organised to brief the local media about the federation's forthcoming activities and the development plans for the future. "The equestrian facilities coming up at Al Rahba Farm will be a milestone in the history of Oman equestrian sports and activities," Al Fairuz said adding that the first phase of the project has already started. "We will have a main complex, a race course, veterinary clinic, training tracks and stables," he added. The OEF chairman also reaffirmed the federation's keenness to support the local and private bodies involved in the equestrian sports. He also revealed that the sport of show-jumping will remain the top priority of the federation. "Show-jumping will be on the top of our list of priorities. It is an Olympic sport so we will do everything to promote this descipline and ensure the Omani teams participation and performance at the international events," he said. "Now we are proud to have a young Omani, Sultan al Toqi representing Oman at the Asian Show-jumping Championships in Singapore. He started just four years ago and now he has qualified for the Asian championships," he added. |
