Queen Beatrix visits Grand Mosque, concludes visit

MUSCAT — Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and her 1326373502466306500 delegation left the Sultanate yesterday concluding a three-day official visit 1326373581996312900 during which she was received by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.1326373611376315800 /> The Queen and her delegation were seen off at the 1326373550376309700 Royal Airport by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible 1326397721767773300 for Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Minister 1326370042856098000 of Tourism and head of the mission of honour accompanying 1326370042996098400 the Queen, HH Sayyid Mohammed bin Harib al Said, Sultanate’s 1326370043056098600 Ambassador to the Netherlands, Dutch Ambassador accredited to the Sultanate, 1326370043106098700 and members of the mission of honour.
The Queen was 1326370043126098800 accompanied during her visit to the Sultanate by a delegation 1326372724546251400 comprising Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, his wife Princess Maxima, and other high-level Dutch officials.
Earlier, Queen Beatrix and her delegation visited Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Wilayat of Bausher.
The Queen and her delegation were received at the mosque by officials of Sultan Qaboos Centre for Islamic Culture. She was briefed about the history and stages of the construction of the mosque.
The Queen was acquainted with the social role the mosque plays in terms of inculcating tolerance in the community and spreading the message of Islam which advocates peace and well-being of all humanity.
The Queen reviewed the architectural design of the mosque, which combines Omani and Islamic cultures. — ONA
