RIYADH — A Saudi man on the country’s list of 85 fugitive militants linked to Al Qaeda has surrendered to government authorities, the interior ministry said yesterday.
Oqail Omaish Oqail al Mutairi turned himself in after negotiations with the authorities, and arrived back in Saudi Arabia from an unnamed country on April 28, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
Mutairi was one of 84 Saudis and one Yemeni whose names were published and sent to Interpol in February 2009 as fugitives allegedly tied to Al Qaeda. — AFP
