HM, Khalifa discuss relations

HM begins 3-day private tour — Visit to foster bilateral tiesAL AIN — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held a fraternal meeting at Al Rawdah Palace in Al Ain City yesterday. His Majesty and Shaikh Khalifa exchanged cordial conversations and discussed various aspects of co-operation between the Sultanate and the UAE with a view to cementing ties between the two brotherly peoples.

His Majesty arrived here earlier in the day on a three-day private visit to the UAE. His Majesty was received upon his arrival at Al Ain International Airport by Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum. Later in the day, Shaikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon at Al Rawdah Palace here in honour of His Majesty.

The luncheon was also attended by members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. It was also attended from the UAE side by a number of shaikhs and dignitaries of the UAE. The visit comes within the context of fostering bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the UAE.

Earlier, the meeting was attended from the Omani side by members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. Present at the meeting from the UAE side were Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Representative of the UAE President, Gen Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Shaikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, Shaikh Mansoor bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour), Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Shaikh Soroor bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation,
Lt Gen Shaikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Shaikh Hamid bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the Diwan of the Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Foreign Affairs Minister, Shaikh Omar bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, Shaikh Dr Said bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan, Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak al Nahyan, Public Works Minister, Shaikh Sultan bin Tahnoon al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and a number of shaikhs and officials in the UAE.
On arrival, His Majesty the Sultan was also received by Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Representative of the UAE President, Gen Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Shaikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, Shaikh Mansoor bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy 1334419590785379000 Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour), a number of shaikhs and the Sultanate’s ambassador to the UAE.
His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied by an official high-ranking delegation comprising Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Royal Office Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Darwish bin Ismaeel al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin al Zubair, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Economic Planning Affairs and Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Qatabi, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the UAE. — ONA
