Cabinet-Majlis meeting focuses on enhancing co-operation — MUSCAT — As part of the keenness attached by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to push forward the development wheel in the country and promote the Omani individual to polish his talents and enhance his skills to play a prospective role in the comprehensive development process witnessed by all parts of the Sultanate, a joint meeting between the Council of Ministers, the Majlis Addawla and Majlis Ash’shura was held yesterday.
The meeting stems from the belief in the importance of constructive and fruitful dialogue which aims at exchange of views to reach practical visions which contribute in activating the ongoing efforts and help in implementing the developmental plans and programmes.
His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, welcomed the members of the Council of Oman and stressed the interest of the government in their visions which aim at achieving more development in various sectors, taking into consideration the priorities of each stage, as well as the balance in development for all regions.
To achieve these goals the officials will intensify their visits to all regions to identify new services required by people and the available job opportunities for the youth. They
will also follow-up the projects, and the government will evaluate all these aspects.
He expressed satisfaction over the meetings and the open dialogue which was characterised by openness and understanding of the nature of the future challenges which require the collaboration of all efforts to reach the aspirations.
HH Sayyid Fahd pointed out that His Majesty the Sultan’s directives for the government to give first priority to providing the citizens with the services and ensuring that everyone enjoys prosperity, so that every Omani will remain always proud of the achievements, development and progress of his land.
This approach will make everyone an active player in the development and construction march which moves forward with steady steps and relentless determination. All resources are availed and sacrifices are made to have a better tomorrow.
Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, stressed His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’s interest in activating the role of the Council of Ministers and the Majlis Oman by organising such joint co-ordination meetings.
Sayyid Khalid told Oman News Agency that yesterday’s meeting stressed the importance of highlighting many issues of interest for the state and citizens.
Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the Majlis Addawla, said that
the meeting contributes to implementing the directives of His Majesty the Sultan to carry out the roles towards the citizens.
Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, said that the meeting aims at enhancing co-operation among members of the two Majlises and the Council of Ministers to achieve the public interest for the state and citizens.
Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Civil Service Minister, stressed the keenness of the government to meet members of the Majlis and co-ordinate with them issues of public interest.
He added that the meeting covered a number of themes. As far as the Civil Service Ministry was concerned, the issues of employment and the 5th grade have been referred to the respective institutions and will be properly addressed soon.
Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Education Minister, affirmed that the meetings covered all the issues related to the educational march.
Nada bint Hassan al Jamali, member of the Majlis Addawla, pointed out that the meeting helps in raising issues and getting opinions.
Naama bint Jumaiel al Busaidiya, member of the Majlis Ash’shura, said that the meeting covered the new layouts that are distributed without having the proper services, among other matters.

of the Majlis Addawla, said that the meeting is very important in terms of enhancing dialogue and understanding and discussing many issues of interest for the citizen.
Meanwhile, members of the Council of Oman stressed the importance of these meetings as they have a positive effect on co-operation among the state institutions and enhance the communication and common understanding among them. They appealed to Allah to safeguard His Majesty the Sultan, grant him good health and happiness to achieve the hopes of his subjects for brighter future with welfare and stability for all. A luncheon was hosted on this good occasion which was attended by members of the Council of Ministers and the Council of Oman. — ONA
