AL KHABOURAH — Eight people from one family 
died in a major road accident along the highway in the North Batinah Governorate yesterday. Giving details of the tragedy, Lt Col Abdullah bin Ahmed al Shizawi, Commander of Al Khabourah Police Station, said that a 4-wheel vehicle travelling from Al Khabourah roundabout in the direction of the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq veered off its course and crashed into a truck parked on the side of the road and caught fire. The blaze left all those who were inside the 4-wheel vehicle charred to death on the spot before a civil defence team arrived. The bodies were transferred to Al Khabourah Health Centre. The ROP is advising all motorists not to get distracted from the road when driving. — ONA
