GCC delegation briefed about Oman’s award-winning employment programmeMon, 30 April 2012
![]() MUSCAT — Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, yesterday received a delegation from the GCC civil service departments and the GCC Secretariat General. During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid praised the good relations and mutual cooperation between the GCC countries in all fields. The meeting discussed aspects of the existing cooperation between the GCC civil service departments. It also touched on services rendered to units that apply laws concerning employees' affairs at the public sector. The meeting also discussed the possibility of benefiting from successful experiences of some countries particularly those related to civil service affairs, administrative development and human resources development among the GCC civil service departments. The delegation's visit comes within the framework of learning from the central employment experience followed by the Civil Service Ministry. A visual presentation was screened on the Sultanate's experience in the central employment that obtained the UN award in the category of combating corruption for 2011 during which Shaikh Saud bin Hamad al-Hamoudah, Director-General of Employment at the Ministry, gave a briefing on the mechanism of central employment and the stages for those applying for vacancies, as well as major objectives of the central employment system. Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Manpower Register (PAMR) gave a visual presentation on the establishment of manpower register, the objective behind its establishment and its stages until setting up PAMR and its system as per the Royal Decree No (98/ 2011). — ONA |
