Oman, Estonia sign MoU on ITMon, 30 April 2012
![]() MUSCAT — Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Information Technology Authority (ITA) Board, received in his office here yesterday Juhan Parts, Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications in Estonia, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed enhancing means of the existing co-operation between the two countries in various economic and trade fields and the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of IT, as well as encouraging companies to invest in available opportunities in the Sultanate and Estonia. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the governments of the Sultanate and Estonia to exchange information and expertise in the field of IT and encouraging relevant authorities, institutions and companies in the two countries. The MoU concerns with enhancing and strengthening the cooperation and exchange of information between the two sides in various fields, in addition to encouraging investment, trade and technical companies and enhancing cooperation between the information and communications technologies (ICT) industries in the Sultanate and Estonia. The MoU included cooperation in the field of training and programmes of developing skills of Omani employees in selected aspects from IT and communications. Meanwhile, the Estonian minister yesterday visited the building of ITA in Knowledge Oasis Muscat during which he met with Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, and viewed a number of e-projects being executed by ITA.
