Talks with officials to have positive impact on relations — MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has received a verbal message from the Government in Malaysia. The message was conveyed here yesterday when His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received in his Office here yesterday Dato Mustafa Mohammed, Minister of International Trade and Industry in Malaysia. The guest also conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Malaysian leadership to His Majesty the Sultan, along with the best wishes to the Omani government and people.
Conversation during the meeting dealt with means of supporting aspects of co-operation in the economic and trade fields, besides exchanging expertise and encouraging the businessmen from both sides to explore the investment projects each other’s countries. The meeting also touched on co-operation in the fields of education and health, as well as the setting up joint projects to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples. The two sides reviewed a number of regional and international issues.
The Malaysian guest expressed his delight and pride to visit the Sultanate. He commended the Sultanate’s achievements in economic and human development areas. In other comments, the guest said that his talks with senior Omani officials will have a positive impact on the Omani-Malaysian relations.
The meeting was attended by Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Dato Rustam Yahya, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Sultanate. — ONA
