OUTLOOK — By Fatma Al Ismaili — The two golden rules on the basics of successful management are: first, the successful manager must have a positive approach to push his employees for achievement and second, he must have the ability to take care of others so that he can motivate them to give their best.
Are our managers good enough at these two arts?
I consider them as art because dealing with the human being is not just giving orders to push them by force to do the job without knowing the points of strength of these employees. The majority of employees who stayed at service for a long time are complaining about the same routine in their job and they feel that they are not giving their best anymore.
However, there are some employees who like this daily routine and they don’t accept any changes made in their duties. They are like spinning objects in an empty circle. There are also employees who are doing nothing but keep on flattering their bosses to maintain the same glittering image they used to have since ages.
The administrative confusion in some institutions is annoying lots of employees because there are some enthusiastic employees who are longing for some support and motivation but get none because of the absence of the positive distribution of duties. On the other hand, there are some vital institutions who keep moving employees from a department to another to help employees gain experience in different fields and enhance their skills.
In life, you are forced to deal with different kinds of people with different mentalities. We think that leaving a particular work environment could free us from the situations that disagree with ours, but we get amazed to find the same situations in the other place too.
There are certain things that need to change. Those who disagree with you must not hinder your movement forward as we need to be ready to accept others and to understand them and sometimes work with them. It needs wisdom and those who are wiser can easily control their life.
