Oman U-22s to train in Bahrain

MUSCAT — The Oman national under-22 team will camp in Bahrain as part of their preparations for the AFC Under-22 Asian Cup qualifiers. The Sultanate are scheduled to host the Group ‘A’ qualifiers from June 23. The other teams in the group are the UAE, Iraq, India, Turkmenistan and Lebanon. The Omanis, who are undergoing a local camp under the watchful eyes of newly-appointed French coach Philippe Burle, will travel to Bahrain on June 2.

During the camp, which will conclude on June 8, the team will play two friendlies with their Bahraini counterparts on June 5 and 7. After the current camp, the team will also undergo two domestic camps from May 20 to 26 and between May 31 and July 2. After their return from Bahrain, the team will again meet on June 11 for a six-day camp. They are also likely to a friendly on June 17.
