Oman LNG’s green project in Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan

Wed, 13 June 2012

The Municipality of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan continues its tree planting project on road sides by using waste water in its irrigating system. Musalam al Saeedi, Head of Technical Affairs Department in the Municipality, asserts that the municipality has been working to invest any technical and financial help available to be able to finish this project shortly. “The project strongly considers the greening policy which is followed and encouraged by both government and private sectors in the Sultanate. Now, we have two green landscapes; one is placed beside the Islamic Institute, and the other is in front of Oman Oil station. Both are located at the main road of the wilayat. The waste water plant is set to be able to irrigate almost 10 kilometres that covers the total area of the project. The project also includes setting up underground tanks with a capacity of 3,000 cubic litres in order to gather and supply water into specific pipes to reach the project’s corners easily”, al Saeedi said. Regarding the financial support, Musalam al Saeedi mentioned that “the municipality co-ordinated earlier with Oman LNG which was willing to finance this project with RO 48,000 and this support certainly aids us to achieve more than 70 per cent of the project works”.
