GENEVA — On the sidelines of the Sultanate’s participation in the 101st session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower yesterday met with Dr Ahmed Magdlati, Palestinian Labour Minister.
During the meeting, the Palestinian Minister reviewed the efforts made by the Government of the Palestinian Authority to Palestinian people to keep abreast of developments at the international arena, improve job opportunities and raise wages for young jobseekers.
The two sides also reviewed how to take advantage of the Omani experience in this field.
On his part, Al Bakri presented to his Palestinian counterpart an idea on the efforts being exerted by the Ministry of Manpower in the Sultanate, the laws regulating the labour market.
He also invited the Palestinian Minister to visit the Sultanate this year.
The meeting was attended by Yahya bin Salim al Wahaibi, Sultanate’s Permanent Delegate at the United Nations (UN) Headquartres in Geneva and other international organisations. — ONA
